Payment Methods Report 2020

As an innovation center, we wanted to bring this Report on Trends and Innovation in Payment Methods to the community, to help understand the characteristics, main trends and strategic changes that the payment systems industry in Spain is experiencing and that, due to its transversal nature, affect the entire industry.

At the end of 2017, the Payment Innovation Hub was created, led by a multi-sector alliance of companies (CaixaBank, Global Payments, Inc., Visa, Samsung and Arval), with the aim of promoting innovation in payment methods and solutions for companies. In just under three years we have witnessed first-hand the great transformation that the industry has experienced, beyond what we initially anticipated. Other movements that drive the revolution in the industry have been added to the unstoppable technological development that we were already experiencing.

This report aims to provide a snapshot of the exciting times the world of payments is currently experiencing. In the current unpredictable scenario, our founding partners are playing a leading role, betting on the development of new solutions that anticipate and respond to the needs of a market that is also eager for innovation.
